Clifford Yap holds a BSc. Film & TV degree from Montana State University (USA) and his career spans more than 30 years in the media and education industries.
Cliff has taught thousands of students in the Diploma of Communications and Media Management in Temasek Polytechnic in his capacity as a lecturer. He also certified students from University of Western Australia in a specially crafted, intensive curriculum endorsed by UWA as part of their course requirement. He holds a Higher Education Teaching Certificate endorsed by Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore.
Outside of the formal tertiary education sector, Cliff has conducted workshops for the Singapore International Film Festival with his college buddies who have professional experiences as Indie Producer/ Director, Writer, DOP & Crew in Hollywood. He has also conducted corporate classes for school teachers and government agencies in Singapore, and in addition to teaching large classes, has also tutored students one-on-one.
His media professional experiences include: Creative Editor for Singapore Armed Forces Pioneer Magazine, Channel 5 TV Producer/Director for Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, 3rd AD for Columbia Pictures, and Independent Commercial Producer/Director creating TVC, corporate videos, training videos and numerous special events across the disciplines of photography, film and television production.
Cliff has contributed his professional skills to community-related projects for schools and other organizations including Down Syndrome Association Singapore, Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, and in grassroots work. He has received commendations for his contributions from Singapore Deputy Prime Minsiter Teo Chee Hean, MINDEF, University of Western Australia, and others.
Passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge, Cliff is currently developing and publishing original content and new pedagogy in media education in an independent capacity as a Media Professional and Coach. He is Author / Publisher for Concept of the Hand Photography: A Systematic Approach to Learn Fundamentals in 24 Hours, and Shooting Memories: A Travel Seeker/Photographer Guide, which introduces the unique ‘TQAFSS’ method of shooting. He has more than 20 new media courses in development, online as well as in print. The Corporate T.O.M. Program is a unique and special crafted program for corporate's training, outreach and marketing strategy.
Over the next five years, Cliff plans to expand his online courses globally through innovative media education. And to ignite out-of-the-box projects to promote creativity in Singapore and the region.
On a personal note, he embraces the richness of life through his love for good food, wine, jazz fusion, recreational sports, travel, and comparative religious studies.
